For decades, Kowalski’s workers have worked hard with their union brothers and sisters to build strong, secure retirement plans. Kowalski’s offer:
- Reduces overall contributions by your employer
- Increases cost of 401k plan administration
- Jeopardizes current earned benefits for hundreds of employees
- Replaces Defined Benefit plan with more volatile 401k plan
Full-time jobs replaced with minimum wage jobs
Kowalski’s new “Small Store Contract” would:
- Create new minimum and low-wage positions
- Freeze all wages
- Eliminate full-time/part-time ratios
- Reduce security for all workers
As of August 1, Kowalski’s made the poor choice of declaring impasse and implementing their last offer.
Your union believes this is a blatant violation of your rights and has filed charges with the National Labor Relations Board. And workers have rallied for a fair contract as a result.
